Barton Farm Refurbishment |
Barton Farm is a
scheduled ancient monument and Grade II listed structure dating from the fourteenth century. Built from local dressed stone the bridge spans the river with four pointed arches. Three cutwaters were added to the upstream side in the fifteenth century. |
Tamtara provided 75sq.m of floating platform to allow stonemasons to carry out a sympathetic restoration of the bridge over a three month period. |
The flexibility of layout allowed the masons to safely access all the necessary areas of the structure with minimal disruption to the river flow and maximum retention of debris and spilled materials. |
